Other Interests

Ever since I was a young child, my family and I have taken trips abroad.  My first trip was to Portugal, to the Algarve. My mother was taken ill and I was adopted out to a Portuguese family while she recovered. Since then I have had the travel bug.  In 1995 I hired a studio in the Spanish town of Competa, Andalucia.  I spent the next two years painting and drawing this region of Spain (in and around Malaga) In 1997 I was blessed with my daughter's birth.  My daughter is now a talented young designer finishing her design degree at Kingston University. Whenever I can get away I travel to somewhere new which not only provides new inspiration for my work, it feeds my soul. Over the last ten years I have frequented the Cote d'Azure for the beautiful Mediterranean light and the aesthetics of the French. I have also revisited Spain, visited Morocco and Croatia.  The colours of these Southern European countries are inspirational.
