Leo Season is upon us. Phew. How many more lovely days can we have in Leo season. Lots.
I went to see him to belatedly, and simply, celebrate. I brought cake (of course) and I made him one of my 3 minute meals. Omelette and avocado green salad. Bless him. He did not know where the omelette pan was or, in fact, what an omelette pan looks like. "You know, like a pancake pan". He looked at me blankly.
My lovely dad is a Leo.
We found one in the recesses of the kitchen, in an 'old' fridge - which is now a cupboard. Navigating other people's kitchen...hard work, when the owner themselves is not entirely sure where everything is....and has a degree of obsessive compulsive disorder. Challenging.
I like to whizz up a meal in minutes. Life (and Summer) is too short to be indoors on a day like today. How I feel? "You can get a few mins of my time in the kitchen...then, as you know, I'm off outside".
Anne-Marie and Lau turned up, impromtu. How lovely. Another Leo over, to party. We had great fun. Lau is moving back to Denmark. I had not seen him in at least 20 years. Cray-zee.
So, we drank Pimm's ("Yes, I will do a few more mins in the kitchen and make a decent and fruity Pimm's with ice for our guests. That's it though : )....and a minute or two to put candles on the cake".
The garden was a suntrap. It's lush, to sit and pass a bit of time playing with my pooch and chatting about this and that. I found myself being my usual comedic-self. Making jokes that, maybe, should not be made : } and stating things that...well, they were already thinking...so, why not? Whack-ass humour, gets people laughing or thinking or hating you. Funny in itself.
Sagittarius is the 'wounded healer', of the zodiac. Ninth house. Our jokes come from our pain and life lessons...of which we have had a lot. Jokes and fun are healing, in their own way. Leo's get it (the Heart, Lionheart) they understand the jokes (joviality/Jove/Jupiter) from the wounded heart.
A-M had a lovely anecdote to tell. Apparently, at my brothers 40th (ostentatious) Leo bash in Brighton - a decade ago - A-M was there with her fiancee. He had not ever met my Pa, just Matt. My Padres came in the door, a bit later (no surprises, there) and A-M pointed him out, "That's Matt's dad", kinda by way of introduction (you need a bit of forewarning with my Pa
: )
Fiancee's (to AM) chin hit the floor, not literally but almost, and he was absolutely sure that my Pa was Ronnie Corbett. A-M, did not know this, and carried on introducing them. It was much later that he discovered that my Pa is not, in fact, Ronnie Corbett. It would probably take some convincing : ) and a bit of let down. "No, you did not just meet Ronnie Corbett, you met Matt's crazy-ass-and-actually-quite-funny-dad. Hate to break it to you, honey."
In the meantime, in between time, it's back to the daily grind of balancing life and getting enough time out to do the things I love to do. Like, going to the beach, going to the beach, going to the beach, going to the beach, and generally, going to the beach. Decisions.
