Love is the ultimate law of life.
Duh! Whoever did not know this already, advice: get out of your head and into your heart.
This is funny to me because the fact is: everything is energy, and it makes me laugh when I meet people who do not realise this. It makes me want to pat them on the head and say, 'You poor little unawakened thing'.
Love is a verb.
It is not a feeling. The reason that it feels like a feeling is because it is an energy within all of us.
If you look at the 7 main chakras of the body (chakra is an energy centre within the body) they are associated with the 7 colours of the rainbow - or at least the 7 colours that the human eye perceives in a rainbow.
The root colour (of the rainbow and the base chakra) is red. Associated with earth (red earth) the ground. The base or first, on which the other colours/chakras sit.
The sacral colour (ditto) is orange. The second. Associated with the energy of creativity/sexuality.
The solar plexus colour (ditto) is yellow. The third. Associated with the energy of psychic/telepathy and nervous energy and system.
The heart colour is green (ditto). The fourth. Associated with the energy of love.
The throat colour is blue (ditto) The fifth. Associated with the energy of sound/voice communication.
The 'third eye' (which is an invisible eye that sits between our visible eyes) colour is indigo blue. The sixth ('sixth sense') The energy of sight/seeing/spirituality and higher knowledge.
The crown colour (top of the head) ....is not gold : ) is ultra violet. The energy portal where universal energy can be 'downloaded'. in other words, imagine the body like a bottle with the top open...that's the crown chakra. Receptivity.
The most common chakra to become unbalanced is the root chakra. If the foundation chakra is off balance, then the others will become out of alignment. Yoga is perfect way to re-ground the root chakra. Yoga grounds you and your energy. Getting into nature, walking barefoot is another way to ground your energy.
These seven colours correspond with the seven planets (which does not include Pluto - current discussion is questioning that Pluto is a dwarf planet or moon/s)
Of course, when I consider this, and rainbows and the colour spectrum (in terms of painting) it makes everything seem more magical. Paint is made from raw earth colours. Pigment from the earth.
Making paintings is more than just applying paint to a surface. Making paintings is an holistic exercise that considers the aesthetics and the materials and the intention and the mind and the emotions and the vibration of colours (yes, colours carry energy too) the soul.
Effectively, when I see a piece of art work that lacks any true conviction or soul or intellect or aesthetics or good vibrations, I can be a terrible bitch.
I have been to exhibitions where I have had to put a sock in it : ) to avoid verbally assassinating someone's (mediocre/abysmal) work.
I have been to exhibitions when I have verbally assassinated people's work, and directly took myself home.
I verbally assassinate my own work, on occasion.
I have been to one exhibition (Matisse, Tate Modern) where I broke down and cried at nearly every artwork. Matisse was the great colourist. When you see his work in the flesh, his paper-cuts (made as he was dying of cancer) the stained glass windows (made not long before he died) the joyfulness in his colourful work, it makes me cry with a kind of homage.
...would you believe it that Matisse was forever thinking of giving up painting because he did not rate his work too much? Picasso was often his only ally.
His parents constantly pressured him to study Law (as my mother tried to pressure me) ........completely not realising that love is the ultimate law of life. He knew that. It's in his art.
There is often only one or two paintings/artist that I am drawn to in a show. Excellence is rare.
