...sleep at the weekend.
The Chagall Windows, near Tonbridge, trip...cancelled. Rain and crappy road conditions.
We decided to go another day, a brighter day.
However, instead, My colleague/friend CSM came for a long breakfast meeting, with fizz, coffee croissant and great conversation and plans.
I really enjoy discussions with CSM. He is very well read and we can discuss artist of the Impressionist era and Modernist era (which interests us both, in terms of art history).
We ended the afternoon with a plan and a proposed booking inquiry for next year.
We were laughing about how we could use an A-board outside. "Real Art" (arrow)
There's a lot of 'fake' art about. When I say fake, I am describing the Brighton 'artists', who paint mediocrity and formulaic art. They might well produce a big canvas to go with the interior or the sofa, and sell them successfully, but there's no soul in it. It's homogenised production line mediocrity. There's a lot of it about.
Everyone can make art. Not everyone is an artist.
In every profession there will be examples of excellence, mediocrity and the abysmal.
Our show will exhibit paintings and drawings. There will be no prints. It would be great to include a little 3D work.
I'm looking forward to it. We will be able to design the space how we both wish to be present on all of the days that the show runs. Since CSM and I get on very well, this will not be a problem...and I can go off onto coffee runs (with a bunch of flyers), when I need to stretch my legs.
We will need comfy chairs, a desk, flowers and music, our beautiful selves and our beautiful art...and our humour finely tuned because 'there's now't so queer as folk'.
